April 11 – Strengthened in Every Season

Colossians 1:11 –
"Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience."

SITREP:

God doesn’t just give you strength for one battle—He strengthens you for a lifetime of perseverance.

What do you depend on when your strength runs out—your training, your willpower, or something deeper?

The book of Colossians, written by the Apostle Paul, was a letter to the believers in Colossae, encouraging them to stand firm in their faith and grow in spiritual strength. Paul emphasizes that God equips His people with the endurance they need to persevere through trials.

In Colossians 1:11, Paul highlights:

  • "Being strengthened with all power." – This is not human strength, but divine strength given by God Himself.
  • "According to His glorious might." – This power is limitless because it comes from God, not human ability.
  • "So that you may have great endurance and patience." – Strength is not just for a momentary battle, but for lifelong perseverance, both in trials and in waiting on God's timing.

This verse reminds believers that God is not just a temporary source of strength—He is the ongoing provider of endurance needed for the entire journey of faith.

How This Applies to a Soldier’s Faith:
For a soldier, Colossians 1:11 is a reminder that God provides the strength to endure every mission, every hardship, and every battle. Here’s how this verse applies:

  1. Strength Comes from God, Not Just Training
    • Military training builds physical and mental toughness, but spiritual endurance comes only from God.
    • This verse assures warriors that they don’t have to rely on their own strength—God is their power source.
  2. Endurance is Essential for Victory
    • Battles are not won in a single moment, but through long-term perseverance.
    • Spiritually, God provides the endurance needed to fight through challenges and keep moving forward.
  3. Patience is Just as Important as Strength
    • Soldiers often endure long waits, delayed missions, and uncertainty—patience is just as vital as action.
    • This verse teaches that God gives patience along with strength, ensuring that His warriors can endure every season of life.
  4. God’s Strength Never Runs Out
    • A soldier’s body can grow weak and tired, but God’s strength is infinite.
    • This verse reassures believers that God’s power is constant, providing endurance for a lifetime of faithfulness.

ENDEX:
Colossians 1:11 is a soldier’s assurance that God provides strength for the long haul. Just as warriors train for endurance and perseverance, believers must rely on God’s unlimited power to sustain them. The mission of faith is not just about one battle—it’s about staying strong through every challenge, knowing that God equips His soldiers for victory.
