September 14 – Stay Sober and Alert
Romans 13:11
"And do this,
understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up
from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first
believed."
SITREP:
Have you ever been jolted awake in the middle of the night
by an urgent call to action—no time to hesitate, no time to drift back to
sleep? **Romans 13:11 is that kind of wake-up call for every soldier of faith:
the battle is already underway, and it’s time to snap awake, gear up, and move
out.
Breaking Down the Verse:
"And do this, understanding the present time:" —
Situational awareness isn’t optional. A warrior must know the urgency of the
moment.
"The hour has already come for you to wake up from your
slumber," — There’s no time for spiritual sleep. The fight is active, not
future.
"because our salvation is nearer now than when we first
believed." — The finish line is closer than you think. Every step forward
matters more now than ever before.
Paul writes these words with a sense of battlefield urgency,
not for scholars or casual listeners, but for warriors who need to know the
mission's timing is critical. The enemy is moving. The clock is ticking. The
orders are active.
How This Shapes a Soldier’s Faith:
Every seasoned warrior knows that delayed action can mean
disaster. Romans 13:11 reminds every soldier that spiritual sluggishness is a
deadly liability.
For combat veterans, the importance of readiness is
ingrained. You know what happens when vigilance slips.
**Spiritually, the danger is no different—**the battlefield
is real, the mission is active, and the urgency is growing with every passing
hour.
Waking up spiritually means shaking off distractions,
excuses, complacency, and fear.
It means recognizing that every decision, every word, every
step is part of a larger campaign—and the time to act is not tomorrow—it’s now.
The battle isn't waiting for you to feel ready. The hour has
already come.
God’s calling isn't for the half-awake—it’s for the fully
armed and alert.
The day of full redemption is approaching, and every warrior
must be standing, geared, and ready when the Commander calls the final charge.
ENDEX:
Wake up, soldier—the time is now. You weren’t saved to sleep
through the battle. Gear up. Stay alert. Move forward. Every heartbeat draws
you closer to the full revealing of your salvation. There’s no time to waste
and no ground to surrender. Stay mission-ready and live like the finish line is
already within sight—because it is.
AAR:
Are you living like time is on your side—or like the
mission’s already underway? Romans 13:11 is a spiritual wake-up call: “And
do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to
wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we
first believed.” This isn’t just about watching the clock—it’s about
recognizing the urgency of your calling. Paul isn’t saying get ready—he’s
saying it’s already time. Your challenge: Look at your current
priorities. What needs to shift if you’re going to live like the time for
action is now, not later?
The Alarm’s Already Going Off—Move Like It Matters
Spiritual slumber is dangerous because it feels safe. It
tells you there’s time, that someone else will step up, that tomorrow is
guaranteed. But Romans 13:11 rips that lie apart. You’re not waiting for the
mission—you’re on it. The window is closing, the fight is active, and
the Commander has already given the go. Every day you wake up is one day closer
to the return of Christ and the end of this war. So suit up, lock in, and live
like your deployment is now. Because it is. And the world can’t afford a
soldier who’s still asleep.
